The Creative Process: Artists at Work & Portraits in Creativity, Maira Kalman
Friday, Jul. 14 / 2:00–3:00 pm
Boca Raton Museum of Art

The Creative Process: Artists at Work (1997, NR, 28 Min) explores artists' irresistible impulse to create. Each demonstrates how they navigate through their unique process of creating a work of art. The film features Romare Bearden, Elizabeth Catlett, Red Grooms, Linda Freeman, Faith Ringold, and Chuck Close.

In partnership with The Met, MoMA and The Guggenheim, Maira Kalman explores essential questions through painting, publication and performance in this short film, Portraits in Creativity (NR, 18 min). With her characteristic humor, tender observations of our human foibles, and gorgeous sense of color, she asks, “Who are we? How are we documenting ourselves? Is this a dream? Are we in costume?”

Free with Museum admission.
