Learn the four simple steps of “Color Mixing in One Day!” During this incredibly practical one-day workshop, Diane reveals four specific steps to easily and successfully mix color.
Finding the right color does not have to be confusing or bewildering - there truly is a system for mixing accurate color! The Instructor provides simple but crucial information paired with helpful demonstrations, and followed by plenty of guided practice with one-on-one assistance. In this workshop, we begin with gesture and contour drawings to draw from the life model on a large scale. Focusing on composition, proportion, and value scale, students work on long poses using a 26x48” format or larger. Restore, Refresh & Reinvent your old negatives, slides & prints.

This workshop will show you step by step how to take your old slides, negatives and photos and bring them back to life, even reinvent them into modern photographic works of art.

Part one will be on different methodology of scanning slides, negatives, prints; from 8mm movies to 35mm and 2 1/4 by 2 1/4 negatives, slides and larger prints using both a flatbed scanner and a faster negative scanner to bring your work into your computer. This will cover both Black and White and Color works.

Part two will include using both Light Room and PhotoShop to correct and create beautiful final prints: including color correction, scratch removal, cropping and general improvement to your original work.

Part three will include taking your older work and, with the use of PhotoShop, create new artistic creations combining different images utilizing the use of Layering and Blending modes.

Create two unique silk scarves using dyes, paints and resists. This workshop is an introduction to the basics of tie-dyeing, shibori, batik and sun printing, and in particular, how silk differs from cotton or other fabrics. Egg tempera is a luminous painting medium with great potential for present-day artists as well as those interested in experiencing firsthand the painting methods of the “Old Masters”. Combining historical Russian and Renaissance painting traditions with a contemporary approach, Suzanne Scherer brings this ancient method of painting to the Boca Art School.
