Drawing inspiration from masterworks in museums is a time honored tradition. Degas, Ingres, Delacroix, and Picasso each copied masterworks in the Louvre. Learn the fundamentals of drawing while finding inspiration in the Boca Raton Museum of Art galleries and sculpture garden. The class will also meet with the Chief Registrar to learn about the Museum collection of 19th and 20th century drawings.

Designed for students who have a knowledge of basic drawing techniques, this class focuses on developing skills and exploring different drawing tools and styles of drawing. Students are encouraged to identify their personal drawing style as they draw from still-life, cast sculpture, and the live model. Class demonstrations and individual guidance in traditional and contemporary approaches to portraiture are provided. Students work in drawing media or the medium of their choice. For Monday classes a model will be present for half of each term.

Drawing from the nude model, learn the traditional method of depicting the human figure based on observation.
