Alla prima refers to completing a painting all in one sitting. Work with a limited color palette to create a landscape, still-life, or portrait in the space of each class session. The goal of the class is to learn drawing and painting techniques without laboring over every small detail. Each class is a learning exercise in composition, color mixing, and harmonies. Learning is maximized through demonstrations as well as individual attention for each student.
