EDUCATION MORNINGS In an effort to expand the
educational opportunities offered through the visual arts, the Boca Raton
Museum of Art presents Education Mornings. This
program targets middle and high school students who will participate in a two-part experience at the Museum. One portion focuses on a studio workshop
for students who will create a work of art based on the selected artist. The other portion involves a docent-guided tour investigating the artist and
his/her original works of art. In conjunction with the exhibition, Marc Bell Presents: The Magical World of
M.C. Escher, Education Mornings will explore the life and
works of printmaker, draftsman, book illustrator and muralist M.C.
Escher. Artist Catalina Aguirre Hoffman will facilitate the studio workshop.
The program will be offered for eleven Wednesday mornings from January 27 -
April 7, 2010. The workshop is limited to 50 students per morning. This program is extremely popular so register early!
SCHOOL PARTNERSHIPS The Boca Raton Museum of Art is committed to forging partnerships with schools interested in developing ways the Museum can become a significant resource for enhancing the curriculum and learning skills of their students by using visual art. Programs within a school and visits to the Museum are designed specifically to address the needs of each school.
INTERNSHIPS Students enrolled in area colleges and universities may apply for internships to fulfill curriculum requirements.
CURRICULUM CONNECTIONS The Museum offers a program, Eye to I, developed to encourage fourth and fifth grade students to learn Visual Thinking Strategies and improve their critical thinking skills. COMMUNITY-BASED PARTNERSHIPS The Museum coordinates outreach programs as a service to those who do not have the opportunity to visit the Museum. For established after-care centers, the Meet a Master, Create a Masterpiece assists students (grades 3-5) in learning how to look at art and create their own masterpieces. Currently, the Museum is engaged in partnerships with Boys & Girls Clubs, Youth Activity Center, and Florence Fuller Child Development Centers in Boca Raton.
