Masterpieces of Splendor & Passion: Baroque Spain & its Empire showcases a selection of 56 paintings from the extraordinary riches of the Hispanic Society Museum & Library (HSM&L) collection of Baroque Art. The HSM&L holdings constitute the most extensive collection of Hispanic art and literature outside of Spain and Latin America. Included will be rarely-seen masterpieces by some of Spain’s most renowned painters such as El Greco, Diego Velázquez, and Bartolomé  Esteban Murillo.

Premiering in Boca Raton before traveling to two additional venues, Baroque Spain is curated by Guillaume Kientz, Director and CEO of the HSM&L. An exciting array of programming is being scheduled in conjunction with the exhibition that kicks off the Museum’s 75th Anniversary Season, which also coincides with Boca Raton’s Centenary.

This exhibition was organized by The Hispanic Society of America, with support from The Museum Box
