In the great tradition of Spanish still life, Space Station says more than meets the eye. A towering coffee pot precariously balances upon a stack of teetering cups and saucers. With humor, originality, grand metaphor, and an implication of impending collapse, Space Station suggests the irony of Latin American political realities; an uneven balance of power and its ramifications; and man’s calculated strategies to go places far beyond the reach of his reality.
